Generations
3 pictures of eyes, ripped out from photographs, resting beside each other.
Each pair of eyes represents a different generation. The eyes at the top are of a young child, and the emphasis is on the eyes themselves. I put as much detail into each iris as i could, leaving the rest of the child's face smooth and clean, to depict youthfulness.
The next set of eyes belong to a girl, perhaps in her 20s. These eyes have an emphasis on beauty, more attention is given to the face, skin, and features around the eyes.
The last set of eyes belong to a grandmother, and with these eyes I wanted to portray old age. The focus is put on the skin and wrinkles on the womans face, less detail in the iris of each eye. Old age and wisdom are represented in this last set.
Mostly graphite, some charcoal. This probably took around 30 hours, although I didn't really keep track.
